Edit: holy bujeezus this is long. I should tone it down a bit haha. I'll wait till someone replies.

Super-duper-uber bump. Sorry.

Well I read this thread a while back and have been meaning to bump it, because I want to hear more about people's riding. This thread is awesome. Props to Dibbs for making it. I guess I'll start...

I think it started when my oldest sister gave my other sister one of those dumb skateboards with removable handlebars for her birthday, I think in 1999. I was so jealous, the thing made some weird noise if you pressed this button in the handlebars, haha it was rad. It didn't even have griptape, it just had this weird design of these purple and green creatures. So that made me want a scooter, and I begged and begged for one...

So my dad got me this heavy-ass scooter, called a Glider IIK. It was an old-a style scooter, with real metal shock springs and this huugge, awesome brake. I was only about 7 or 8 at the time, so I wasn't doin any tricks or anything. But I could do gnarly no footers and no handers and indian airs, haha I thought i was the shiz. But then i guess I put it away and I forgot about it for the longest time, and then a few years later I tried to get it out again but it was like broken or something, so my dad got me a new one.

Again, I started doing all those no footers and x-ups. I remember my best trick was a no footed x-up down a curb, haha that was hard. Somehow i got this book, called the Ultimate Guide to Scooters, something like that, and I read that thing countless times. It had some trick tuts and I remember getting so frustrated because I couldn't tailwhip, even with the directions from the book. Keep in mind that I still wasn't "serious" about riding.

So I guess i rode off and on, using it mainly as a means of travel to go to friends houses. But eventually probably fall 05, I discovered this thing called the internet, and I started looking for sites. One of the first ones I found was the Wizard Collectibles site, I remember watching the videos there. I remember i was amazed by them, haha, just because the guy 360ed flat. John Belville was his name I think. Another site I found that really opened up my eyes was Ryan Whetstones site "scooters only" http://www.geocities.com/rericwartin/home.html I still watch that summer 05 vid every now and then. I owe a lot to him for really starting to get me interested in riding. There was the Illusion Scooter team site...lol. Eventually, I think I found the DXG site, and it had a link to SR. But I didn't sign up for it, god I wish I had.

For Christmas I got a new a2 scooter, and that took some getting used to after riding taht old heavy scooter. I kinda was serious, but really wasn't, I still couldn't whip or anything. I would do lots of back scooterflip footplants on curbs, haha I don't really remember much else from Spring 06.

Finally, I re-discovered the Scooter Resource. I signed up, forgot my password, and made a new account in July (Independence Day, to be exact). Sorry about that mods/admin. I really found out about the true potential of scooter riding, and found out about the scene. I didn't really post much, but then I was a complete post-whore (still am a bit I guess). I guess it was maybe August or September when I finally could tailwhip and 360. I was sooo happy when I could do those, wow my friends didn't believe me when I told them i could do those tricks at first.

During this winter I did a lot of flatland crap in my basement. hehe, think Easter-type stuff. inverted pogo barspins, pogo spins, no handed inverted pogos, stuff like that. I got a pro model for Christmas, and man it was heavy.

And now..I do a lot of mannys, barspins, fakies, scooterfakies. I still only ride street, having gone to a skatepark once. I try to be as creative as I can be, and not do crappy scooterflips and tailwhips all the time (although i do a lot of doubles off my wedge kicker). I ride new a/b foldy. They're awesome. I still suck at riding.

So yeah...if you read all of that, congratulations, because I think i've been typing this post for like 15 minutes...haha

it all started when i was in 2nd grade. my grandma bought me an old a. i rode it every day for a while and it ended up in the shed. i used to skateboard and i was at the park one day and my friends pat and jarred took scooters randomly to the skatepark one day in september. i went home, dug out my old a and started riding. i started doing 180s and fakies and trying barspins. after about 3 weeks my friend tought me to tailwhip. it took me about 6 months to learn doubles. now my riding is lots of technical combos, fakies, bars, 180s. mainly because i ride in my driveway so much and my skatepark isnt to exciting anymore. ive just been working on consistancy. my style is pretty much tech. i love park just because its fun to flow. i have the most fun just riding the park and manualing boxes and just doing 180s on quarter pipes. i love to do turndowns because they feel very stylish. and i do enjoy street but not really stairs. i love manual pads and banks. ive only whipped a 4 set. but i ride because its fun and i love it.

i dont wanna post anything long right now. im too lazy. but my style is like a biker, cuz thats all i ride with. skaters dont respect me at all, at least until me and some friends throw some scooterflips and supergrab to fingerwhips. but keep it like a biker <3 i'll post more later

Ive been riding for like somewhere around 2 years, Im not that good, I like stairs more than anything though. my best tricks are whip to bars, decades and triples. <3

i guess i wont bitch you out for bumping this jordan haha

idk how my ridings really changed since last summer when i posted in here, i do a shitload of 360 combos now, i do 180s a lot, front scooterflips a lot, barspins a lot, i try not to do tailwhips as much but idk. i dont like my style, but i do try to do things as clean as i can

my riding is pretty much always unequal. Sometimes I come up and do whip to manny to bar combos, or decades, dubs flat and other tech stuff. And other times, I can barely barspin or tailwhip... I think my style is ok for the small experience I have...

but I really need some big headphones to become real steezy! (lmao)

i started riding like a year and a half ago, seriously. before that it was just kinda rolling around, jumping curbs and shit. i kinda got into it a little more hardcore for like 3 weeks, but then it got boring and i "hurt my knee" so i was over it. then i started riding, and i broke my original scoot, so we went on razor and i ordered a pro. thats when it all began......

i am fairly consistent and consider myself having a rather sucky style, which comes from jumping ledges, stairs, just boosting gaps with no tricks, etc etc originally when i first started just to see if i could do it, cause i couldnt ride park too often. so i could like jump a ten stair, but bairly whip a four. it was sketchy, but then i started riding more often park. then i met a dude named aj laporte and i got shown up, so i started trying harder to progress. and then, like 6 months ago i met the babboons, and i was like HOLY SHIT, these guys kick my ass x10. so i been riding with them ever since, and i think theyve definitley influenced my riding. i went from barely being able to 180 whip, to being pretty consistent 180 briflip late whips.......
