Grab two shipping crates, you can nick them from industrial places. Glue and screw one on top of the other and nail some plywood to the top. Get some 20x20x3 angle iron from the steel works (it's like 5 bucks) and glue and screw it to the longest edge(make sure to counter sink).

If that's the case also have a look at the internal starnut and check for stripping and/or deformation.
Make sure not to buy the super ridiculously strong loctite, otherwise you'll spend half an hour with a blowtorch and hammer trying to get that bastard out.
