Im starting to grow out of my old music taste and am beginning to like bands like Dance Gavin Dance and Emarosa, but I dont know many other bands like this, can someone give me some other bands in this genre for me to listen to?

i feel like maybe youre leaning more toward death metal which i cant stand but i can give you some popular bands of that genre...

i dont listen to much of that stuff anymore, but i'd say sky eats airplane, drop dead gorgeous, i set my friends on fire, haste the day, norma jean, heavy heavy low low, the jonbenet, enter shikari, ed gein, and the number 12 looks like you.


those are all decent bands, but i'd definitely recommend checking out at the drive-in, a kiss for jersey, older thrice (the artist in the ambulance is a killer cd), fugazi, kid dynamite, refused, and hot water music.

i threw a bunch out there since i'm sure you've heard of half of them. and i'd definitely recommend checking out that second group of bands that i listed, a lot of them are what make up the roots of post-hardcore. it might take a while to get into them, but they're all really good.

those are all kind of harder stuff, though. you should DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY get the translating the name ep by saosin. also, thursday, chiodos, circa survive, ligeia, scary kids scaring kids, the fall of troy, fear before the march of flames, alesana, pierce the veil, the devil wears prada, and lovehatehero.

since this thread was started with correcting people about genres:

refused and kid dynamite are the only bands i listed that i'd be considered hardcore. the rest are post hardcore/metalcore.

I just thought I'd let you all know that I introduced Greg to a new, punk band. That's right, bow down before me.

Edit: Now I need help lol. So I was watching SNL I believe it was, and I believe it was Kanye West who was performing, and the song he did had the lyrics "so i had to did, what I had to did, because I had a kid," and for the life of me I can't find the song. I've found a couple youtube videos of him performing on SNL but neither worked, so I'm kinda sol. It seems as if it was some sort of freestyle rap that he did, different from the original song. But if y'all could figure that out I'd greatly appreciate it.
