I'm not sure, I got the 400 because I knew it'd be decent for shooting at golden hour and it has appealing grain. What do you recommend?

Dude this is one of my favorite threads ever. The pics are awesome. I'm not the best with photography but I'm a critic about what looks good and what doesnt. All of your photo's look good haha

Yeah it is. Got my film developed. I have to say, when scanned they are quite dull compared to the prints. Any idea why?

Here is just some I took. As I said before, the prints are MUCH better. The colour and contrast is much more pleasing.

Thanks, I'm going to take them into photoshop and set the white and black point, fix colour balance and apply a curves adjustment to see if it will fix the overall flatness.

Apparently, when I scan the negatives it's almost nessasary to use a program like VueScan in order to get the contrast and colour balance right. My scanner doesn't allow me to change colour balance or contrast settings which is a real shape.

How do you go about scanning your negs?

Last night, there was a really big storm. Lightning was flashing non-stop in the clouds just south of us. I quickly grabbed my tripod and 60d and set up on the wharf. Most of the lightning bolts you couldn't see, so I had to take quite a lot of shots hoping a lightning bolt would appear.

In all the rush I forgot to grab a light source of some kind. So because of that, I had to go off what I had on the back of my camera and if the horizon wasn't straight, I adjusted the legs to what I thought was straight. I only had to straighten in lightroom to .2 of a degree.

I also needed a light source to see on my lens how far it was focused, luckily for me magic lantern has this integrated into live view.

I shot these at a 30 second exposure at f/8 and ISO 400.
this picture is amazing..ive always wanted to get a picture of lightning
