clamp is not tightening chromo bars

Yep they are. The slits are only a few millimeters wide. I don't really think you know how wide they should or shouldn't be anyways.
 
No, I broke that. Regardless, I'm using an old A fork. I cut the slits to 2 inches. I even took the lock nut off the headset to gain some extra threads on the fork to see if it would help and it still comes off, only slower. I made a shim for the clamp out of a soda can, and it didn't help. I tried to make a shim for in between the bars and the fork and it wouldn't even fit. My only idea now is to get a different clamp.

for yuo it is. i dont do the work i just order what i need and give it to somebody else to do it for me.

ok i just measured them and they are 2 inches long.
3/16 wide.
 
the best and easiest solution is clamps like DK's these regular stock clamps don't hold because they are meant to clamp aluminum not steel. Soo what this means is that it isn't a strong enough clamp but DK's are completly different using two bolts just fo a "single clamp" hope this solved all problems.
