or maybe you dont know jon very well? he could have worse language than a sailor in his personal life, and he probably didnt know the mods would post his ip address. he probably thought he would get away with it. i doubt his son would fuck up his dads business like that.

that would be like me calling my dads costumers (he owns a painting business) and telling them the colors they picked suck dick.

Just a quick point, in the UK I have sold a few proto scs clamps and they are £69 ($114!) If a kid in the uk had one for christmas he would likely not get much else if his parents would pay that at all, on the other hand we have sold out of Blazer ones as they are basically the same (the std bolts are crap but we supply stainless bolts that are totally solid as they only cost us £1.50 for 4 and it makes the whole setup great). They sell for £39.99.

This means someone can buy an scs and some t-bars for the same price as the proto. It is a copy but its a copy that makes SCS accessible to alot more people, the fact is you can send an scs to china and get a copy made for less than £6 or I can get them made in the uk by hand by top level engineers for less than £30 as a one off so why is no-one asking proto why they charge £69 for them in the first place? Proto are great parts but just like the tdi deck that was supposed to make decks cheaper they are charging $240 for it, who is it making them cheaper for??

It is fine to not buy copy parts if you can afford the originals but alot of people cannot and that is why the market is there and people would not make copies to cash in if the original parts were sold at a good price. If proto sold scs for £40 there would be no market for Blazer to come into, everyone always knocks them but what harm are they doing? It is like knocking the japanese car makers for selling a sports car for £20,000 when Lamborghini make one for £120,000 who would moan then? I used to sell motorbikes and every new development is copied by others and its all good as it reduces the price to the customers in the end.

I think the more manufacturers in the sport the better as it will keep the costs down, and I love Proto parts and the work they do but the fact is they seem to be able to do what they want and no-one ever blames them for their high prices but always moan at the people that copy. If you dont want people to make cheaper parts that rip them off either get Proto to make stuff thats so well made no-one can copy it or just to sell the parts at realistic prices so it is not profitable for people to compete. Look at madd gear original designs that people want but still selling full scooters from £100 and running a very profitable business from it too. Or even look at TSI, full decks hand made for just over $100 that never seem to break so its not just mass manufacturers that can keep prices dwon when they really want to.

Anyway thats the end of my rant, but if you push copy manufacturers to shut and shops to close and just leave a few prices will either stay high or even go up. Competition is a good thing as it makes things better and cheaper, remember when only a few people made pc's and flat screen televisions how expensive they were and now look at the prices and options now hundreds of people make them.

The thing with pricing on the Proto SCS has to have something to do with UK and the retailers importing it, seeing the you can buy a Proto SCS from rebel . ee for 54.64 € which I find kinda strange how the UK dealers almost take the price in USD and just put a Pound sign on it:S

Okay lets get things straight with ProRide.
You can say that im on prorides side seeing as how I work there. Ive been with the company since day one and have done a hell of a lot for them and with them. There has been some good days and bad.
But most of which that has gone on with PR has been exaggerated quite a bit.

Lets start off with all the "Copy" Topic:

1. No single kid on the team or that was on the team had anything to do with how the parts looked so dont start stuff with kids that ride PR parts.
2. Yes Parts do look similar but the only part that is a exact rip off was the Nipple bars from Scooter Zone, Which has been discontinued.
3. When ProRides deck came out last year at SD4 there was no such thing has the lucky evo, so take that into consideration. Now if you look at ProRides Deck and Luckys First Gen Deck (Penis Deck, Not Dissing, Just explaining), They look Nothing alike. The only thing similar is the fact that it is machined(CNC) and not extruded and welded together. IF you want to start arguing about the fact that PR stole the idea of CNC on a deck then you need to argue about how Phoenix Or others Stole razors idea of extrusion and welding.

Now lets talk about the bad talk on scooters from the 2 anonymous People from the same IP address.

Now if you didnt know, Jon, which was the owner and founder of Active Ride Shop owns PR
He is a very smart man and is really nice as well.
Now let me explain What I think happened with the anonymous people.

This is only my theory and I have not talked to jon about it.
But its the only thing that could of happend, Because at the time Jon didnt own active anymore and could not have access to this computer. also I know the man and he would not talk like that.

Now the last topic.
Most of you hate PR because of a special someone and someone else. Im not going to say names but you know who they are.

My opinion is that PR latest parts are pretty good and if you dont like them because of one of the reasons above then do you part and dont buy them.

Thank you for reading my thoughts and Believe Me ask around im a really cool guy so dont hate me.

ALL OF THAT WAS MY OPINION
Please feel free to ask more questions.

im not trying to argue about what i bolded and underlined but are you sure about that because when nick and raymond were on proride nick told me him and raymond both designed the evo bars.
so there for that means some of the team did have to do with what the parts look like
and just a quick question.
i thought you quit proride a few months ago?

just saying.. Ever look at BMX handlebars? they are all the same. maybe we shouldnt worry about this. if people are in love with a certain style of bars then they will hopefully go to the company that originated that style. But otherwise who cares. Compitition drops the prices of goods for us. So Sweet

well about the evo bars what really happened is our old manufacturer made those up just to show randy and then randy showed everyone and asked if he should make them and everyone said yes.
so no nick did not make those bars they just said they would ride them.

and there is no more proride team anymore so i didnt quit there just is none.

All you kids arguing can easily agree on one thing:

Lucky copied RAD's crowbars.

lucky made the PrY bars so scooter riders with a budget can get a pair.
RAD made the 'first' crowbar right?

RAD made the 'first' crowbar right?

They're almost the exact same price. I think the only difference between the two is that pry bars have more mellow backsweep. Also they have a little clover cut into them on the top of the downtube.

And to the people who say Lucky copied Rad, lookie here. You don't hear bikers saying "oh they copied the style of _____'s 2 piece bars" because almost all 2 piece bike bars have the same basic construction, just different geometry.

They don't really give credit to the original bar that was made that way.
Idk about you guys, but when I refer to bars that look like crows, I call them "crow style bars". Everyone knows who the original was, and they original still gets the most business. Hell i'm thinking about getting some crows after a new fork and wheels.
