Specs:
- two piece CNC machined design for optimum strength.
- Anodised black with laser etched French ID logo.
- Supplied with stainless steel axle and bolts.
- Weight: 260g

Issues:
There has been some upcoming issues with the fork. Sadly we have discovered that the
legs and fork tube are "glued" together instead of welded. This has created a problem
with SCS users because after a couple of months the SCS "pulls" the fork-tube and legs
apart. Thus breaking the fork.

Please say how your FrID Fork experience has gone.

I dont think its fair to blame the forks coming apart on the SCS. Bars clamp onto the fork and pull as well. This is a fork problem for sure. Not an SCS problem.

Arent Take 2's the only true one peice fork?

Its pretty shitty that they are coming apart. Just about every MTB fork has pressed/glued steertubes and they arent coming apart as often as Ive been hearing about these...

I think they should figure this out asap cause I want one of these forks :(

Also what type of aluminum is each peice made from? Has anyone actually welded one yet? Pinning seems more dialed to me...

I didn't mean it was the SCS fault. I'm just saying that SCS users that have the French ID Fork should take
precautions. I figured out how to pin the fork using a tiny lock pin. I will post up pics and I'll try to explain
how to do it soon as I can. Yes, French ID NEED to fix this problem, it quite a big one. These forks are very
good and well designed, but not put together well.

Andrew has been pinning the forks, so he knows how to do it well. Andrew could you tell us???

Hmmm...think about it...the SCS can in no way pull on the legs...
If that was the case, the race crown would have slided down together with the fork legs...

But yeah, I wouldn't worry about my FrID couse of 2 cases (out of how many hundreds?)...and 1 of them was grinded down to fit 125 mm wheels...

Cheers!

I picked up a 3/16 x 2 "tension pin" from Lowes to pin my fork. This should work and it looks exactly
like the pins that Andrew uses. I should get my fork tomorrow so I will post up a tutorial tomorrow evening.

The SCS grips on to the fork very well. When you have ridden the fork for a long period of time and try
to take the SCS off it could "pull" apart the forktube from the legs. Your right there was only 2 cases that
were publicized. There has been some other French ID forks pulled apart. It just can bring worry to the
customers if they have purchased a FrID fork.

Just so everyone knows I'm definitely not bashing French ID. They make AWESOME products and they look
better than most other companies products. They are one of THE bigger companies out there. All I'm saying is
that they should either be pinned from the get go or CNC'd all in one piece like they say it is. I understand that
it cost a lot of money but I'm just throwing some idea's out there.

nice thread, answered alot of my questions. so is it official?
CAN I RAW MY FRENCH ID FORK WITH THE OVEN OFF? OR WILL IT EFFECT GLUE BONDING? I wast a 100% sure official answer, and if i do it and it don't work , i will hunt you down, and i will kill you.

I would actually only raw the "visible" part aka the legs. Like only spray the clean off
on the legs or rub it on only the legs and let it set for about an hour. Also you can sand
most of the anodize off then rub some oven off on it.
