Help please feedback on new project!

Hi,
Jeremy at the moment the forks are just basic style more like mgp and razor than proto or district stylish ones, once we have made sure they are solid we are looking at either having cutouts in them or maybe our little el diablo devil face etched onto the side of them. The forks and bars are steel at the moment basically because it is totally solid and also keeps the price down, yes the bars are heavier than alloy but they are also a lifetime purchase, we are seriously looking at doing a lifetime warranty on them so if you ever manage to break the bars you can have another set, another bonus is steel is dead easy to repaint so if you run them for a year and scuff them up you can rub them down and spray them anyway you want for the price of a can of car paint, or you buy more bars obviously but as always we want a business but also want good parts to be accessible to all so if you buy a good pair of bars you they should last you a long time. We may look at other metals for them in future but we are totally confident that these are bullet proof so will see what everyone thinks. The forks are also threaded at the minute, threadless would be cheaper to make (obviously you need to buy the scs so this makes it more expensive for full scooter) but easy enough to do threadless so possible to offer 2 options maybe all we need is 2 different headsets and people could always choose what they want. The forks are also being looked at in cnc aluminium but again think this will be a new year project and will stay with std at the moment. So much in the future going to be busy for a while lol! Looking forward to getting some full scooters and parts built and out there even with the district decks and then bringing in our decks more forks etc out in the future. Hopefully people will like the products and prices enough to keep us in the sport long enough for us to bring out some really good stuff. Only thing I will guarantee is that we wont sell rubbish, if its not right we wont sell it. Our own original decks are as of today being reworked at another factory who are using correct alloy e.g. 6061 T6 and better welding material so within couple of weeks should have what we were after and then move forward from there with the 19.5" decks and 22" cruisers. In meantime district decks on the way so will get pics on here when got some fitted with our bars and forks. Cheers for staying with us all this time guys (and for putting up with my huge messages with hardly any full stops!)

Also Justin thanks for your comments, I can be a right Jerk some of the time but definately never money hoarding, if I get something I always give it away or share it so never going to be a rich jet set type business man but as long as I have a nice little business with lots of happy customers then I am happy. Have so many ideas its unreal and once start getting money coming in plan to put it all into developing them and helping the sport even more.

Cheers,

Joel.

joel sounds great!

i would stick to triple clamps only, one because one model is easier, and two a quad is just extra wieght in my opinion

Thanks guys good comments, the 19" superwide sounds interesting, as it is we can use same width mould to do 19 and 22 as 4.5" wide so would be expensive at the moment but not impossible and if cnc idea works out different ball game so 5" easier to do then, have noted it down so will see what we can do. I like the triple clamps to as cover enough of the bar to make it solid but alot of people just want the extra pose, lol! Think you are right though we are trying to make good things at good prices, need to look good but that is not the key feature of our scooters. Literally just got a message to say some wheels that we are looking at using are just being released have tried to insert picture hope it works!! What do you think? They have been tested by some good riders for last couple of months and feedback is awesome. Cheers, Joel.

wow! This sounds like the scooter everyone should ride!
my opinion would be a 4.5 inch deck but have a 550mm bar height for the taller riders like myself, but it would depend on what compression your doing, or going for a threaded fork.
What wheels have you decided on as well?

is there any way i can get involved? promoting, testing, or general help? this scooter has a lot of potential!

Hi Guys, Thanks for all of the great comments, district decks are on the way and should have a couple of std size decks next week made by another factory using full 6061T6 alloy with stronger welds (compared to the coke can alloy the others used and tried to tell me it was 6061!) so all good, also wheel wise they have been on test in uk for a while now with a couple of top riders and some of their comments are: "as strong as eagles but lighter and more durable" and "there stronger than yak ;P" these are not my words just the guys that have been using them so not trying to start an argument as always just trying to pass on what I have been told so confident they will be as good as they look, they are £15 each and to start with come in red, gold, blue, purple or you can get them on the lg pro scooter when joel pulls his finger out and makes some, lol!

joel, with everything starting to come together, have you got an estimated price for the scooter fully assembled, or holding it off until everything comes out of testing?

Hi,

Not got exact price yet but still trying to hit the £150-£160 we started off with at the start for the pro model, may go up slightly if do some with district v2 deck but not by much maybe extra £10, but you with this one you would get District V2 Deck, Ceramic bearings, The wheels as shown in the album pics, our new bars which will last you forever! our new forks, grips tbc but possibly ODI as seem the best allround although looking at district grips as seem good too, our one piece triple clamp on forks and while not sorted yet probably district headset but could change. Basically the deck wheels and bars alone would cost almost £160 so everything else is pretty much free so we hope people think its a good package and should be able to compete with anything else even near to it on price. I have seen some scooters for $600 that don't seem to have much more on them certainly not worth almost 3 times the money! We are keeping the price down by keeping our margins down and also by not making any money on the district decks. Hope you like the sound of it but as always all comments are good. Another way to keep price down is to not spend on advertising or to have loads of distibutors all taking huge cuts, I would like to get the word out by making good products and then letting the riders (you guys!) spread the word by showing people how good they are rather than paying fat cats loads to print posters or make tv ad's. Thats why when launched in uk would like to have some of you guys as local sellers for us so you can take orders for parts and scooters and we can send them out and either split the profit on each thing with you or give you credit so you can just order parts for yourself when you want them and you dont have to pay, not got this finalised yet but hopefully you get the idea, so opinions greatly recieved! Cheers,

Joel.
