There was no 2005 or 2006 Projekt Revolution, but in a December 2006 interview with fansite LP Association, Dave Farrell of Linkin Park said "At this point I think we're still finalizing ideas as far as to what, and where and how we're going to be starting our touring, but there will definitely be a Projekt Revolution."[1]
On April 6, 2007, Joe Hahn of Linkin Park confirmed that My Chemical Romance, Placebo, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Saosin, and Mindless Self Indulgence will be on the tour, and remarked there there will be "twice as many bands" total [2]. On May 2, Chester Bennington again confirmed on an interview with Zane Lowe the previously announced six bands and added that Julien-K and Styles of Beyond will be on the tour as well.
At midnight May 7, 2007 Mindless Self Indulgence confirmed the lineup and tour dates via their plethora of online networking site profiles.
Later in the day, members of Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Taking Back Sunday held a press conference in New York City confirming Mindless Self Indulgence's information, as well as announcing three additional dates (Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Toronto).
