Yes, any chromoly or steel bars that aren't painted or clearcoated need to be. If you don't they'll get rusty.

ughh thats frustrating. im realllyy thinking about switching from buffs to these because i know what dimensions i like now and i wanna decrease size and weight a bit... but now that kinda changes my mind. plzz i would like to know. not even exact just like a comparison?
