If it was just a giant clamp, it wouldnt surve as a compression system.

Also, you would have to take your bars off anyway, and taking my wheel off is no problem. Even if it is a hassle, I only had to tighten it once since I got it.

sandbllaster would be the best way but i dout you have acces to one so use sandpaper
