as heaps of ppl hav said maybe we ar nt to no and i dont think we ever will but all i no is when ever i pray not to get hurt or for it to stop raining most of the time it happens lol so i dont no, it all started from something but no one can say wat???????? and as i said before no one will every no as well i spose it is just the mystery of life i dont no

alright i respect your opinion but dont get ridicuolous, you cant jes tell god to stop the rain, etcetc. god can work miracles over long periods of time or instantly, so jes because it might have been raining at that certain time doesnt mean that hes never stopped the rain before. i mean its sunny WAY more than rainy (for us atleast lol) so that right there to me is a blessing.

I have a very VERY strong opion on that and how mush truth that is. If priests or what ever can do that then why dont they send a wack to war torn contrys to help people and also if they can do that why are there Hosiptals and Doctors?

Lots of people do g to War Torn Countrys.... There are still Hostpitals and Doctors because not everyone is a Christian and has accepted God into their life... and God can still work through Docters...

god controls noones life. when people say how did got "let" them die... its probably one of the dumbest things ever. we have free will, so we do what we want. because of this, the time of our death is a consequence of our actions, god has nothing to do with it. i dont at all believe that god decided if people live or die in certain situations. if he did, thered be no point in living life if what ultimately happened wasnt up to you.

i believe miracles happen everyday, but the vast majority of the time it has nothing to do with medicine. i think its more of a miracle of how a poor single mother can still raise 3 kids, or when youre going through an extremely traumatic part of your life things somehow seem to work out, not a broken leg getting better.

Yeah, that opinion stuff sounds like some jon edwards stuff. Thats something i disagree so strongly with. i think god does work miracles, but not just i broke my leg heal me, in my opinion, noone can just say god heal my leg.... and it will happen.

There is this one guy (real famous, mabey someone can hook me up with a name) that claims to do all this and makes a royal show of him self doing it but he was cought specding thousands of dollors for the collection plate on trips that wernt nesserery. There was a whole documentry on him.

Im just throwing this out.
Souls are defined as a immortal part of you and is to ave strong links with notions of an afterlife. We cant really define afterlife because non of us have seen it but instead we believe what we hear or see from different religions. This might sound like im just rambling on about somthing only I believe in but who knows it might make sence to some of you out there. I don't honestly know what im talking about but really i basically put out what i know. I believe in god but don't follow. You can classify me in whatever you want, it doesn't matter as long as you follow what you think is right.

you got me there i should have read more into the thread but if we did go beyond our beliefs it might just cause contrevercy because some people might take it wrong and what not. But if there is any sort of arguement or anything i won't be hesitant to lock it. But as of now this thread is pretty legit and will live on.

A ) there are a lot of new people that have never seen this thread who are taking part in my Black Metal thread theat turned into this thread and

Latly, I've been wondering about souls. Do we really have one? Is there something in us other then the phyical being of a human body?

At first I was quite secptic, I have always been on a science side but my girlfriend asked me this "why are we the only living things (to our knowlage) that have advanced soooooo far technology wise, like we are so cilvized and we practally own earth. We are the ones who create worlds enviermantal problems, we are the ones that scientifically solve some.

How can us human beings be so advanced? With so many different languages? Why are there not schools for dogs? Why are we the only living things to break away from the primitive side of life (Predator/pray, just live to reproduce).

Ask any person who is in touch with thier self why they live or what is the meaning of life. The most common awnser I get is "To love and be loved" I don't care who you are, somewhere inside you, you want to love and be loved.

Can animals do this? We dont know, but we have been told by science that the only perpose animals see in live is to eat, sleep and have offspring.

I have trailed off in so many directions that I hope you can still see where im going. What are your thoughts? Do you think we as humans have a soul and why are we so different then every other living being on this planet?

well, IMHO, the reason why we are here is to spread the word of God, do what the bible tells us to (which is basically to be nice and a decent person) and yes, to love and be loved.

Animals do feel love, or something like it. I'm sure you've all seen something were the momma animal protects the baby animal. I guess that might be counted as love.

We are the dominant species right now, at least, but eventually if the earth doesn't get destroyed by us we will still become extinct, and I'm pretty sure octopuses or squids will be the next dominant species (heard that somewhere). It's a fact of life. All species will eventually become extinct, but new species will spring up.

Souls? Huh, that's also a big problem for me. The argumentation based on the fact that people have other purpose of life than to procreate isn't correct. This is because people have taken care of basic life issues like eating, procreating and surviving in the wilderness by dominating the Earth after having developed a brain that allows advanced processes. Thus, as those things are no longer a problems our minds can seek new challegnes in abstract ways of thinking such as arts, science or religion. Why are we the only such intelligent species? I believe that there's been many books written on this subject by proper specialists. One possible explanation that comes to my mind is that human occupies the ecological niche of 'the smart guy' in the world's ecosystem. Another thing is that for example dolphins are considered highly intelligent, having such humane abilities as self-awareness, complex play, communication and even creative thinking and having sex for pleasure, lol. Why wouldn't they have souls?

As for the christian view on the subject of souls, we all know the God's plan of salvation of the human kind. But what if what Jesus and the prophets before him said about souls is not meant to be understood literaly, the same way as it occured in case of the biblical description of the creation of the world? The change in the interpretation of this piece has been caused by scientific research in physics, astronomy, etc. Why wouldn't that happen in the future in case of other information of which the Bible is the only source now?
