Phoenix still produces great quality parts, i really dont understand why some riders would move to grit or crisp from envy or phoenix
For that cash money

Are the newer elyts bags still as big and bulky as the old ones?

For that cash money

This. If you were planning on going to a company on reputation and part quality alone you would choose Phoenix but it's their perks that Grit, Crisp and Envy provide that make the riders go to them. They can afford to buy every rider they want because all the little kiddies keep buying their shit. It's ok to have cheaper completes and stuff for kids but if seems like that's the only way to make money nowadays so every company is turning into a kiddie toy company. Props to companies like TSI who stick to their roots and don't make cheap, Chinese made completes and talk to their fan base as if they are all 10.

I have another question that I'm curious about .... What do you guys do after a sesh and How many times a month do you guys do scooter maintenance and where do you keep your scooters at?

i hate all the shit that gets thrown at envy/mgp/other brands along those lines. I mean, yeah, they're primarily "SCOOTER" companies. Lots of little kids ride their parts. but like friendly said, their providing quality parts for kids to start out on. i mean, when you started riding, were you on a TSI deck?
fixed

Stop segregating our sport

Envy is one of the best mass-producing brands we have. They pay their riders for signature parts, send them to unique places around the world and maintain great relationships with their team. They're constantly innovating and moving forwards with their parts / completes.
So not only are they giving back to the sport at the professional level, they're also bringing kids into the sport and providing quality scooters for them to start on.
Yeah, envy parts do actually feel pretty damn nice, I thought the AOSV2 was like the perfect deck when it came out hahaha

But they just need to make their shit stronger, literally every part theyve ever made I've seen break within a month or week lol

Because when it comes to making bank quantity > quality

I work at a scooter retailer, we sell tonnes of Envy and get minimal warranties on the products.
I don't get why Envy is lumped in with these companies now. They were well respected when they came about and for quite a few years following. It just seems like new dudes bashing them.

Nah like, when the AOSv3s were first released, like 70% of them were snapped within the first week or 2 due to a defect, my friend managed to bend back a pair of envy thermals, the soul bars tend to just bend downwards, the IHC forks snap pretty easily since the forktube diameter is the same as my thumb, AOSv2s were pretty easy to snap for many people (both of mine are still alive so its fine)

Not tryna say they suck or anything cause I like the feel of their parts a lot, they just need to improve their durabily yknow

1. We either hit up Taco Bell or play Halo for the rest of the night. Alot of the time both.
2. Just whenever I feel it needs it. Maybe like 2 or 3 times a month.
3. In my garage. Sometimes after a sesh I'll be too lazy to put it into the garage so I just bring it into my room with me haha

Since ya'll are ranting about companies/brands...

Has anyone else lost respect for Proto? Like, I know Andrew owns this site so do whatever you will but DAMN they really have dropped the ball over the past few years.

Proto decks? What a joke! We've been waiting YEARS for them. And for fucks sake the wheels are complete shit now... They ALL dehub despite being 60 bucks a pop...

Sure they own River Wheels now but what about good ol' Proto? Honestly it pisses me off how the OG brand that got a lot of us interested in riding years ago is now a joke of a company. It's like they're not even trying to maintain their image. TGE distribution pioneered scooter riding... All I want to know is; What happened Proto?

Yeah. I got proto wheels for the first time ever and I thought they would be the best. But then I made a downwhip up a London gap thingi, landed clean but I fell off ma scoot and the wheel got a flatspot.

Which Proto wheels are you talking about? Because the Grippers with white PU are COMPLETELY different to like sig Grippers, not sure about ones with black PU but my white PU Grippers were slower than Sliders and dehubbed in like 2 months but I rode Chema sigs for 6+ months with no problems and they were definitely faster plus they had a different feel to my other Grippers. I believe Nitro Circus takes up a lot of Andrews time so that's probably why decks are taking so long to get released and I'm assuming that's why he stopped making forks?

Can't really blame the wheels haha being new means they would be gripper than old, worn wheels for one thing and flat spots can happen to any wheel if you don't ride them right.

They ALL dehub
Thats a pretty bold statement to say that "they ALL dehub"... I mean my Steadman wheels lasted two years and they STILL WORK; they have just gotten so worn down and squared that they weren't a pleasure to ride anymore. I will agree that Proto has sucked since Armageddon, not in quality of parts but in lack of video part, new parts, and just being involved in general. I'm beyond stoked that they've started to release new stuff lately. I mean the new decks are starting to pop out and those new retros are sick. I can tell they're making a comeback, or at least trying to.

You should see the pile of dehubbed Proto wheels I have in my room... 3 Grippers, 4 sliders, 2 chema sigs

Yep. I agree.
You still gotta wear in the wheels, i don't dehub or chunk protos and ive had the same kasson sigs for 6 months and im still riding them and i usually dont have wheels for more then 2 weeks.. The proto decks are really good also and they are always working on something, so im just waitin for that
