Lately Ive been seeing all the little scooter teams, or companies and come to this conclusion. To be on a team or ride for a company riding scooters riding dictates about 40% of the chance you have to get on. The other 60% is if your "cool" with everybody on the team. Lately Ive seen quite a lot of people sucking up to certain companies so they can get sponsored and its pissing me off. I'm not naming any people. But in the end the people who are "cool" with everybody on the team get on the team and they don't deserve it, other better riders do but they weren't "cool". I'm not trying to start anything really I'm just trying to point out go ride a scooter, get footage and get sponsored. Not sit online all day and try desperately to hold conversations with people in high places in the scooter community so you can be "cool" and get sponsored. I mean shouldn't it be about riding not being good at persuading people? You suck ups know who you are. I feel sorry for you.
Yea I get what your saying. Some teams will choose a rider over another rider who is actualy much better becuase the rider whos better is full of himself and he's "cool" or "popular" in the "scooter community". I think teams/sponsors should choose people with personalitys that they can atleast put up with, but they have to be good enough (whatever level that may be).

I think it should be 50 - 50. You don't want someone who kills it on a scooter but has no personality. They need a certain amount of charisma.

What's so good about being sponsored?

free scooters. Which isnt that bigger deal if you have a job. if you buy a scooter then spend alot of money modding it so it can withstand you I thimk you would apretiait the scooter more than a free one if you can understand what I mean.

You still can mod a free scooter..
And you get money from sponsors too, to mod your scooter

what im trying to say is paying for something yourself deserves more respect than something you get for free

You still earned it if you got sponsored, beacause you had to work to get that sponsorship

hahaha win what? lol its a fuking scooter and its not even cool like bmx or skateboarding lol u cant make money with it and u dont get hella shitt for being on any team so dont cry
wow i seriously dont understand how you even got this far in scootering with that attitude. we get the image of being gay or not cool because were still considered some little kids fad. you have to make the fuckin effort to make it a sport like everyone else.

You can make money with it however little it may be for now, and even if we dont get much shit from a sponsor, every little bit helps.

There isnt really much a sponsor could do that a good paying job cant as of now. so get your scooter and ride your ass off until people realise we arent just a fad.

"why you would want to be sponsored."

-rep.
-scooters.
-comps.
-FUN!

bingo. thats exactly what i would have said.
1. "hey are you sponsored???" , "yea man, ******* sponsored me"
2. "What do you get for being sponsored?" , "scooters, accessories, etc. nothing crazy, but it beats what buying them!"
3. "Do you get to travel for free?" , "well sometimes my sponsor flies me out to comps."

and then in the end, it is fun EITHER way. your only gaining by getting sponsored. even if its not much, i figure its something to be proud of.

Kinda off topic but ive also been seeing kids say their pro on youtube and myspace accounts when their just on a team. If being on a team was considered pro any one could just make their own team to say their pro.any one else notice that?

Yea, Ive noticed that. I was probly one of them when I started riding. I say being Pro is when you get paid for scootering and you have to atleast to like every trick off RVM 1. Am is like a pretty good rider who has been doing it for some time and knows how the heck to put together a scooter. I think a flow rider is someone who can just like tailwhip and 360 flat (lil stuff).

I wish there was an official rule or something on all of this though.
