Stop buying and start riding

I love that you brought up the separation of the sport and the companies.

The sport should always be priority number one, simply because it came first.

i think its a good point, when you see kids like i need new one peice bars my old ones are scratched but i quite often buy parts if somethings gonna break soon or if its a good deal. for example im probably goning to get a vertx deck as its going to go up after the sale( i emailed the owner) but ill still use my old parts. also if theres a good second hand deal ill grab it

my scooter lives in the streets so my scooter is always shitty and falling apart. im constantly breaking parts and using hand me downs from my friends. then i go to the skatepark and see kids who arnt very good with $600 scooters......

yea but your lucky in a way as u get free parts off your friends but i understand what your saying

EDIT: i edited my post but 2 posts came up???????

I did this with my bikes ALOT but when I moved to scooters I haven't really done it except I bought a TSI complete and I had an ultra pro but I just didnt like the feeling and I broke LOTS of wheels. But,I have to admit I am going to buy come crow bars when they are available if I need them or not.

if kids dont keep buying parts all the time. companies will make less money thus creating a large chain of events leading to the death of a company... i think everyone should just ride, support and do what ou want to do. If supporting the sport to you means buying madd parts and visiting the SR site every day then let it be at least your interested in the sport. we need people that just buy stuff to buy it ....

it's because no one actually has to work for their parts. some do but most don't.
Exactly. The people that complain about this, are either the people from a poor background, or those who have parents that prefer to teach their kids the value of money by insisting that they earn it themselves. Before I got picked up by Vertx I always had the most ghetto setups, because my dad refused to pay for it all, and I didn't expect him to, because I prefer not to treat my dad like an unlimited source of money. So I had to earn the money to pay for parts, which I ended up using on other things such as going out with mates, cause having a pretty scoot doesn't really matter to me.

The way I see it, I will not complain about people having sick setups before they can even whip, as long as they earn the money for the parts themselves. Its just the little kids that say "mom go and by me a madd tomorrow please" that piss me off.

my scooter is pretty dialed right now so the only parts i really have to buy are bearings and sometimes wheels but will admit that if my grades are good my parents will buy me a part that i need

This article is so good, i know so many people that do this, infact almost everyone does, including me. People i know have spent well over a thousand dollars on their scooters, they could buy three hectic scooters that would never break with that money! If you try and be practical you could get a strong and solid scooter for not too much money, and when you get sick of a part and want something new just trade it instead of spending more money unneceserally.
