Because a high-quality SD camera can be found just as cheap as a low quality HD camera. SD footage isn't choppy/wavy/etc. and it has more of an original feel. Plus, SD is generally 4:3 which has a lot more vertical distortion when using a fisheye.
for a self filmed video that wasn't bad at all. only tip would be to switch up the angles like you did to make it a little more interesting.
Experiment. I asked a similar question earlier, and didnt get a proper answer. Now I know why - long lens shooting is an art not a technique - you don't learn it you improve at it.
Albeit an art that I'm crap at and have pretty much given up on.
Thanks man, this really helped. I have a t3 I take pictures with and I film for my friend with his HDR Fx7 and I enjoy filming. My t3 only shoots in 720p so I considered selling the body and getting a t2i body. Should I do that or continue shooting with my t3 and save up for a Vx1000 or something?
Questions like that are mainly preference, although there are things you should keep in mind.
VX:
- 18 years old
- It WILL break
- No LCD screen
- Consistently will need maintenance
- $300-400
- Fisheye is around $350-400
T2i(any DSLR):
- It will overheat
- Poor audio
- Expensive lenses
- A full setup will easily cost $1,000+ (mic, handle, fisheye, pancake lens, body, extra batteries, etc.)
- Less likely to break
What do you use Joe?
GL2s are a LOT better than GL1s. Hep Greg used a GL1 in a bunch of his videos, I'm pretty sure he has a GL2 now? Or I know he planned on getting one. Matt Reeves has a GL2 and puts out great footy. I'd get one.sick ^
Should I sell my Canon GL1 to get a GL2?
Sanyo Fh1a. I'm not into DSLRs, but I don't really wanna go SD because of tapes and I'm lazy as fuck.
