In my opinion, flip out screens are pointless. An extra 200 dollars just for a flip out screen isn't worth it. I actually like not looking at the screen, you kind of focus more on the rider and such.

^ Dude just save up the money for a babydeath, that lens is a waste of money. And that camera doesn't have a filter size, so there's no threads for the fisheye to screw into anyway. I listed several excellent options so you wouldn't be wasting any money. Use them haha. The cam caddie is the only good thing there.

I feel like kids aren't even reading the thread lol.

Ben, it depends on your computer. It may not even have a firewire port. If you have a laptop, you might have to get a PCMCIA card w/ a firewire port installed on it. If you have a newer mac, you need a 4-pin to 4-pin firewire cord. Older macs, and if you have a windows, chances are it's 4-pin to 6-pin.

The camera's always 4-pin.

Can somebody tell me if i should get an MK1 lens for my GL1, or an Opteka. I heard that the sunshade on the lens shows up and if you take it off it has waayyy to many sun beam things. :/ But I would only go up to 250 max on a lens

If you're only willing to pay $250, you aren't getting an MK1. Just go with the Opteka, a lot of people prefer them over MK1s on GLs anyway.

Are canon EOS 550d worth the moneys? For filming that is. I don't like vid cams to much.

Netjiot thread.
And no,
Awkward, overheats, expensive lenses, small sensor, terrible audio so you'll need an expensive mic, expensive handles, overall money pits for a setup that won't do any better than a vixia with an atr25 mic (which is also a handle) and an opteka baby.

Look down on the page, the Netjiot. Not enough to justify it's own thread. A thread for random questions and such, like what you just asked.

Ben, if you have a local computer store, go price out what it would be to get a firewire card installed if you buy a card there, and if you include your own card for them to install. Don't go to Best Buy or anything, they charge too much. Geek Squad sucks.

I personally installed mine myself, it's easy but you have to be at lest semi-good with computers and willing to take yours apart on your own. You can buy firewire cards on ebay for pretty cheap, I think mine was like $12 or $15 and it has three ports on it.
