tyler ya it is and tom na i think thats a good cam for 125

If you're going to give bad advice, don't give advice at all.

T3s are not good for filming, they aren't even 1080p.
You asked for an opinion on your camera and then you disagreed with someone, there was no reason for your first post if you weren't even going to take others' advice.

all i want is a nice camara to film with i have a crappy samsung handycam thing so a panasonic ag ez30 mini dv with 2 batteries and 3 tapes is a good deal right? i just want something to film with thats better then a shitty handycam.

The ez30 is not as good of quality as your handycam. It is SD and uses tapes, so you will need a different camera to capture footage on, and it will be nothing like your handycam, you don't just plug it in a click import. It is also going to have to be set up manually, which I don't think you know how to do. And it is from the early 1990's. It is older than a VX1k and will probably break really easily. It is just like the cheapest 3ccd camera panasonic ever made and you can tell by the way it preforms.

Stock lenses on DSLR's are usually weak, they work, but you will want to upgrade.

ok so if i went with a cheaper old body, like a t1i, and went with a 50mm f.1/8 would that be good for pictures and occasional filming if i added a mic and handle

Not sure of the difference between pictures between t1,2,3i's, but I know the video is all the same, so yeah that would be good.

T1is are not 1080p.

Go on ebay and get a brand new T2i body for $520 then get the 50mm f/1.8 for around 80-100. It'd be the same as buying a new T2i w/ Kit lens from anywhere else.

Or if you're really tight on money, look into the Panasonic Gh1. You can find them used on ebay for 200-400 and they put out way nicer footage than T2is.
