Haha yall need to settle down. If you want to see new products and what not go to the eye candy thread, or go to Inside Scooters.

i believe the inside forum is the same way
you can't make a thread unless you ad on inside but i am not sure
so do not hold me to it

this pisses me off. I loved scooter resource :(
I think this is pretty bull though. Even buff doing it for the money?
I guess helping the sport has become getting money now.

Personally I think this is just sad cause it stunts the growth of the sport and seems fairly greedy to me and anyway if more people start to scooter in the end they will probably buy a proto part in the end so its all bad

Saying "Oh lets go to Inside" is a dick move. They operate the same way. If you have an advertising deal with the Inside Network, you get a thread. If you don't... you don't get a thread.

I think you should have to pay to get your own FORUM in 'Show-room' but anyone can make a THREAD in manufacturer or retailer review.

Paying for a forum is (kind of) reasonable, but for a thread? Thats fucking stupid

Why can anyone post a thread in the show room section, yet official manufactuers have to pay? You are only giving SR a bad name (and we already have one, half of this forum seems to be pothead toolbags), and help ruin our sports chances at becomimg somewhat mainstream. Make them pay for advertising, but making threads shouldn't be controlled.
And there appears to be tons of people willing to pay, with a grand total of two companies.

they opened the spot for banners they are not forcing companies to post ads. That is companies own personal preference and it shows that they are willing to advertise there parts.

Newer companies are boned though because they won't have the money to advertise.

Inside changed it due to public demand I think. They just have to approve your thread now, no payment is required.

lol guys are reacting like a pandemic has just struck, did u guys realize it costs like 200k+ to make a simple commercial? and can cost millions for a good one like during the super bowl. i honestly think its just realistic. and its not like the companies are not gonna pay, there will be fewer but there will still be companies in here

The reason we're "cracking down" is because now I work full time on the Scooter Resource and we actually have the means to. Before it was just a few people who were on the site every now and then, but since I am on here regularly we decided to start enforcing rules that hadn't been before.

P.S. - If everyone is so bummed about the sport being small and this hurting it, why are you not complaining about Inside making a new forum and splitting up the sport?

Alex, I see where you're coming from, but you locked the TSI thread? Really? They have been one of the biggest supporters of the scooter community for years and you're just gonna lock their thread? I see no harm in free advertising here. I know how you're trying to filter out the bad companies, but wow

I respect Rob for being such a good moderator on a forum as bad as this one, but that's about all I can say.

SR has turned into something absolutely fucking horrible... this is just the icing in the cake.

whoever decided on this new "rule" is straight up retarded. this sport is filled with nothing but spoiled 11-15 year old children with rich parents, and money hungry companies that will do anything to make as much as they possibly can, and the children are too young, naive, and stupid to realize it.

ban my account, I don't give a fuck. this is the worst forum I've ever had the displeasure of posting on... it's just funny to stay on here and watch idiots deteriorate it, day after day.

When did I say we were filtering out bad companies? The rule has been "no free advertising" for the longest time and we never enforced it. The cheapest price for advertising is $25 per month. That gets the company a showroom section and a banner. If your company can't spare $25 then that is truly unfortunate. $25 is the profit from one part for many companies so there is no reason they cannot afford this. We made it affordable for a reason.
