I feel like an invitation only system would drive away new people who didn't know anybody. I could never have gotten into this site if it would have been invitation only.

^Maybe that is a good thing? The only kids on this site would be the ones who were serious about scootering. That's how SR used to be. Back then you had to stumble upon it while searching "Freestyle Scootering" in order to even discover what this place was haha.

maybe just put one of these things on

it would get rid of bots and still alow all non bots to enter the site

Yes. I think this is a good idea. I also like the invitation idea. I just think it'd be a better way to prevent kids who are lazy, and even bots.

Ehh, captcha is a good idea, but what kind of application is this? Like a jop application type deal?
Before I joined I read something like "visit the form for a while and see how things wørk before joining" so I did. Putting things like that one the sign up page or "search if you have a question, there are chances that other people have already asked" should keep the one posters out.
