if we did this, we would have to transfer any/all informational posts about scooter parts/maintenance somewhere on the site that is visible to anyone who is looking for it. the whole point of this site is to be the informational hub of the scooter community. to close off the forum to everyone would completely cut out a major function of this site.

I can come on here not signed in and see everything but the mature section. I don't see you point I guess? If you search anything on google about scooters, SR doesnt even show up until the bottom of the page. Their is so many other different sites to find your information then here. People that come on SR to ask questions are people that already know about the site.

The application wouldn't prevent people from visiting the site, just posting until their application has been accepted. Also, another forum I visit has a system where a new member's first posts has to be reviewed by mod to make sure they're not a spam bot.

what kind of application was in mind if you had one in mind? like a test so certain people could get on or just something to stop bots, say it were in place and you are already registered would you have to do this application or just for new members after it were in place
