You need a 1 and 1/4th, because that's how thick the shim makes the fork and how thick standard bars are. You could look for: 1 3/8 od tubing with 1/16th inch wall Edit: find a steel yard near you, bring your bars and an hic clamp in and all for chromoly tubing that fits it correctly.
