i have never ever had bars break on me, ive had a few pairs bend and the gussets crack, but no snapping. Bars are stronger than most of the scooter. And think about this: If tom had the balls to do a 16 set, he probably does huge sets pretty often, so it was only a matter of time before they broke.

I had like that when i rode MTB its called headlock and doesn't loosen up as easly as with a starnut.

I've just got to say.

HIC works better with a longer, aluminum shim, somewhere around the 3" length.
Compresses more, reduces the amount of stress points and grips chromoly bars and forks MUUUUCH better.

My bars don't wiggle one tiny bit anymore.

^ I had ICS and it worked great, then when I needed new bars I went HIC. Honestly, they both work great and there really isn't anything special about HIC. The only thing I can think of is that its definitely less of a hassle because you don't have to take off your front wheel to tighten the compression. But if you can dial your scooter then it shouldn't matter.

I didnt want to start a new thread so i thought i would just ask it here. What compression system does the MGP signature use?I have taken it apart and tried finding what it uses but I cant find what it is.

HIC vs SCS... i am going scs because my bars snapped right at the slit when i had ICS. scs takes away the slit, taking away the biggest weak spot on bars. and if you snap your bars with ICS, you trash everything... you need new bars, and ICS

ics are a pain in the ass cause you have to take the front wheel off then take out the compression bolt just to get the bars off im gonna get a proto scs

HIC is the shim that goes on you fork to hold the head set together. then you put your bars on. its as simple as that. The only problem is companys that make under size bars 1 1/4" they are for threaded forks.
