I think i found a solution to the whole "cant have slits in your bars" thing

well if you didn't want to cut them could you just take a old broken fork, put it in your bars , so when you tighten the SCS the bars don't cave in? anyone get where i am going with this?

scs ordered:) and so they raise your bars exactly 2 inches?
No, you have to cut your bars down two inches from the bottom.

so i cant just tell andrew what size i want for the scs because it only says certain sizes and i do not want to cut my bars uneven
It doesn't matter if they're uneven.

thats been said already, but it would probably be better to use a threadless tube. the fork tube is threaded, and would thread into the bars. could it be possible that if it was overtightened the fork tube could crack? or be stuck to the bars?

i couldnt say.
of course you could try putting a broken fork tube in it, or just a threadless tube. remember, with this compression system ID no longer matters. you can make thick alu bars. you can experiment.

ohh so all i half to do is cut my bars 2 inches and it will be he same hieght as it used to be without the scs?

and what is the difference of buying the scs bars or wtv and they only come in like 4 sizes and if i buy the 20` high ones thats how high they will be on my scs

It doesnt let me order the new SCS. It says please select an alternative payment method.
If it says to select an alternative payment method, then you should probably do it, don't you think?

all you have to do is cut your bars freakin 2 inches, that eliminates the slits and allows your bars to fit the scs compresssion

seriously people it's not that hard

i dont really see how having slit would affect it though like if you wanted to ride higher bars and didnt cut them as much i mean yea it would be a little weaker but not that big of deal

I dont think it would work because when you tighten the clamp the slits will bend.

Read the "NOTICE" letter on each page of the bars.

SCS compatible bars don't come with the notch at the bottom, so if you buy lets say the 24" high SCS compatible bars, you'll get bars that are already 2" pre-cut at the bottom, so they would be 24" high when you use your SCS. And, since the bars don't come with the notch, you can easily just cut the bars shorter yourself. This is why SCS-compatible bars come in 4 diffirent heights, so you could cut them to any height you want yourself.

you could also put another tube in you bars, so you can keep the slits so you have higher bars.
The notches/slits must NOT be there if you're using the SCS. You have to avoid the notches. The most height you could probably gain with cutting the notch part off and start using SCS, is maybe like 1".

some people dont have access to tools, though. they should be able to pay $3-5 extra to get it cut short an inch or 2.

The only tool you need is a saw. Saws are cheap. Sawing isn't difficult.

In case you want lower bars than 20"/24"/30"/36",
all you need to do just ONE cut and they are ready to go with the SCS.

Do you want somebody to do a video "How to saw your bars" tutorial? lol

i guess im one of very few kids without access to a saw. i had 2, but my stepdad let our neighbor borrow it and he took it when he moved away. my other one broke.

and no, i dont need a "how to saw your bars" tutorial.
