Well considering they already make some of the best laptops on the market I would expect their phones to be the same way

Motorola has ALWAYS been total shit with their durability, go with a Samsung

Except my original Motorola Droid is in perfect condition even though I've had it since day it came out. Also my mom had the same phone and the 3rd generation and she is very hard on phones and they both held up fine. When I say she is hard on phones I mean that she drops them several times a day and gets mad at it and hits/bangs it on things it thinking it will make it work better. But I say go with a Samsung anyways, they make amazing phones as well as every electronic.

My brother went through multiple motorolas for silly reasons as simple as dropping it on the kitchen floor or even just the lap bar being laid down on his pocket on a rollercoaster. Once he got a samsung he had no problems. I also had a friend who's razr was cracked by GENTLY sitting on it against a CUSHION, I witnessed it happen.

An interesting story: My buddy and I found his phone in his yard that had been lost for a year. He still had his charger for it so he decided to charge it up, but it had no plan on it. He pocketed it and took it along with him to an outdoors party we went to that sat along an alley. We threw that thing as far as we could back and forth hitting the ground and it simply wouldn't break. The screen would not crack and you were still able to call the phone service. Eventually it broke in 2, but you could STILL make calls from it. With that combined with my own personal experiences I recognized Samsung made a durable phone.

(Not the only durable phone out there, but they do have some of the best smart phones out to date right now)

Nothing against the Razr, i've seen it been broken before, the tech is good and keeping it alive is very possible, but still a feat with Motorola.

WHAT. You have that so backwards. My mom is STILL using the first phone she ever got, which was a Razr. The first one. It still works completely fine, and she manhandles the shit out of it and has even dropped it off our 3rd story balcony multiple times, to the concrete below. My Droid X is at least a year and a half old now, and it still works just as well as when I first got it. It's in mint condition. I drop/throw it (accidentally of course) on a daily basis. On the other hand, every single person I have ever known that got a touch screen Samsung phone has had the thing self-destruct in their hands within 6 months. I would tell them when they first got the phone, "Samsung phones suck, that screen is going to completely stop working in a few months" and they would deny it and tell me that the phone is awesome. Sure, it works awesome when it's new. Every phone does. A few months later, like clockwork, they would be complaining about how their phone barely registers on the touch screen any more and how much of a laggy piece of shit the phone is. Every time. Unless Samsung has recently (within the last year) completely revamped the screens on their phones, I guarantee they are still the same terrible quality shitboxes they've been shoveling in peoples' faces for the past 3-4 years. I will never buy a Samsung phone.

Also, my friend who is the district manager for AT&T agrees with me that Samsung phones suck. And he has had literally every phone that came out within the past couple years, and some that haven't even come out yet.

um no ronny, you're wrong. i have dropped my phone from 5 feet onto a rock directly onto the screen, with no screen protector or case, and theres not even a scratch.

in fact, look at my terrible quality shitbox surpassing the asus transformer tab in the picture i already posted in this thread but you somehow missed.

this is samsungs flagship phone for last year. i have yet to see any motorola phones EVER pass that benchmark. in fact i havent even seen motorola get up to the 3.5k range. ive had my phone for over a month, ive been modding and overclocking the shit out of it, it got up to 131 degrees running 1.6ghz and my phone still runs flawlessly. if you had problems with a samsung phone it's not the phone, its your inexperience with the software on the phone. dont sit here bashing samsung because they make HANDS DOWN the best smartphones on the market today.

motorola is just an average smartphone maker like htc and lg, samsung is THE smartphone maker. they are engine behind smartphone technology right now.

edit: before you see the htc up there and claim samsung isnt the best because of that, that is a 1.5ghz quad core in that htc, i have a 1.2ghz dual core .

heres where motorola stands with its latest flagship phone, droid 4.

and heres where samsung stands with its latest flagship, the galaxy s3

there is no competition here, samsung is far better than motorola.

edit edit: your friend has never had a phone that hasnt come out yet made by samsung, that's bullshit. only samsungs top developers have unreleased samsung products. the earliest a wireless providers employee can get an unreleased phone is maybe a week before it goes on sale.

and @ ben: yes, asus computers do kick some serious ass and im stoked for a line of asus phones. they're going to own the market in a few years if they get serious.

iphone only rocks if that's what you're throwing at it.

and if it must be within the next week, the nexus is your best bet. if you can hold off the galaxy s3 comes out for verizon july 9th.

using a wireless provider doesnt make you a fanboy. using iphone and thinking they're amazing does. fanboyism is something that happens to people when they know nothing about something and get attached to the worst possible option while acting like its amazing.

"Make something even a fool can use, and only fools will use it"
best anti apple quote ever.

bricks dont have screens though.

edit: since i changed the thread around alittle to include tablets, ill start.

asus tf700 transformer. its a tablet that has a keyboard dock.
dsc01674-copy-1340303348.jpg

hands down fastest sub $500 tablet on the market. clocked at 1.6ghz on quad core with a max of 1.7ghz per core. 5 cores, one being for applications that are always running, the other 4 for serious computing, as most high end tablets and phones have now. if you're looking for a sub 500 dollar tablet, can't get better than this. beats any ipad. 10 inch tablet.

if you're looking for something say.. under 200 dollars, all you can get is a kindle fire or nook.. for now.
tomorrow at google i/o asus ans google are going to release the nexus 7 tablet running 4.1 jelly bean.
nexus-7-550x309.jpg

its a 7 inch tablet with a tegra 3 quad core running 1.3ghz, 1gb ram, 720p amoled display.. and its built by asus meaning its good as hell. only one camera but are you really expecting 2 from a 200 dollar tablet? nah didnt think so. prices are going to be 199 for an 8gb version and 250 for the 16. its going to be the absolute best tablet for your money. it compares with the a700 by acer as far as specs (although smaller in size) and its 250 cheaper.
gotta love insiders who leak info like this.
oh and this tablet is going to cost 130-210 to produce, meaning you're REALLY getting what you pay for.

asus is basically the best of the best in the tablet and laptop world right now as far as price to performance ratio, they're doing big things.
