Smart phones and tablets

um no ronny, you're wrong. i have dropped my phone from 5 feet onto a rock directly onto the screen, with no screen protector or case, and theres not even a scratch.

Samsung phones are teh bezt blah blah blah

My friend threw his Droid Bionic across a damn parking lot and out his window with no case, and it still worked fine. Also no scratches. That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I mean how long the phone will last, given normal circumstances and heavy use over long periods of time. That is where I have seen Samsung phones fail every time. Every. Time. I guess a better term than durability would be longevity, so I'll use that from now on to avoid confusion.

So back to the matters at hand. I wasn't talking about processing power or speed when it comes to Samsung, so your charts are completely irrelevant. That has never been my problem with them. What I'm talking about is that the actual phones have had shoddy longevlity in the past, which has been enough to tarnish my view of them. They make retarded fast phones now and I'm sure their flagship offerings are everything you've said they are. My friend has had a Galaxy S3 for a month or so and it's literally the fastest thing I have ever seen. But I still have my doubts that it will be functioning perfectly 6 months from now, because that's what all of my firsthand experience with Samsung phones has taught me.

Also, you don't even know my friend so stop talking shit lol. He goes to expos all around the region for unveiling parties of new phones, at which the attendees receive the phone for free most of the time. It's exclusive as fuck and he only gets in because he's so highly regarded by AT&T. He gets a new award from them probably every two weeks. But he always shows me these phones that I've never heard of before, and tells me about these unveilings he's going to where "hopefully they're handing them out as gifts to everyone" etc. I know he doesn't get phones a year before they come out or anything, but yes he does get them a good bit before they're released. Hell, even the friend I mentioned above has had the S3 for a month, and didn't it only come out on the 21st? And don't even tell me he doesn't have it, because I had seen it and toyed around with it multiple times in person before I even realized what it was and that it wasn't released yet. And trust me, if that kid can get such a highly anticipated phone a month early, anyone can.

I have a samsung galaxy ace. Probably not considered a smart phone, but whatever.

I've dropped it in excess of 10 times, It's fell out of my window (second story onto a car) and it still works perfectly. I don't have a case or anything. Lots of scratches and dents but only cosmetic. The battery slides out on occasion even when the back is on, but it's not that bad considering I throw it everywhere.

bricks dont have screens though.

edit: since i changed the thread around alittle to include tablets, ill start.

asus tf700 transformer. its a tablet that has a keyboard dock.

hands down fastest sub $500 tablet on the market. clocked at 1.6ghz on quad core with a max of 1.7ghz per core. 5 cores, one being for applications that are always running, the other 4 for serious computing, as most high end tablets and phones have now. if you're looking for a sub 500 dollar tablet, can't get better than this. beats any ipad. 10 inch tablet.

if you're looking for something say.. under 200 dollars, all you can get is a kindle fire or nook.. for now.
tomorrow at google i/o asus ans google are going to release the nexus 7 tablet running 4.1 jelly bean.
nexus-7-550x309.jpg

its a 7 inch tablet with a tegra 3 quad core running 1.3ghz, 1gb ram, 720p amoled display.. and its built by asus meaning its good as hell. only one camera but are you really expecting 2 from a 200 dollar tablet? nah didnt think so. prices are going to be 199 for an 8gb version and 250 for the 16. its going to be the absolute best tablet for your money. it compares with the a700 by acer as far as specs (although smaller in size) and its 250 cheaper.
gotta love insiders who leak info like this.
oh and this tablet is going to cost 130-210 to produce, meaning you're REALLY getting what you pay for.

asus is basically the best of the best in the tablet and laptop world right now as far as price to performance ratio, they're doing big things.
I've been looking at a tablet for a while now.

I was going to get a 16GB Acer iconia something something on sale for $350. I tried it in store and it functioned alright, but I didn't go for it because it's an acer. I've had bad history with Acers.

So you'd recommend the Asus'? I used to have an Asus netbook but I lost it. Their tablets are alright?

Also, I'm kind of pissed that my new Droid Bionic doesn't take pictures as well as my Droid X. I swear I got some sort of reverse-defective Droid X that takes abnormally good pictures, because I have not seen another phone take macro shots as well as mine does. It's almost enough to make me want to go back to the X, because other than it being faster (a lot faster) it is basically the same phone. And it doesn't have the same bump on the case that I use to spin the phone around my finger, which destroys me inside.

I'm in iPhone user and whenever I pull it out, my android friends instantly feel that they need to explain why their phones are better....I don't care I simply just like the using an iPhone.

Maybe you hang out with douchebags lol. I'd never just blatantly bash someone for using an iPhone, unless they try to say how great it is. In that case, though, all bets are off and they are getting their ass handed to them.

Ignore him
and I have an Iphone- care less what anyone else uses.

as mentioned, Morons that have to give you crap about whatever phone you are using are not worth the time to argue with.

Buy Phone
Use Phone.
Done.

That s3 sounds insane. I have the Atrix 2 which has a dual core processor. It is so efficient and seems limitless. I can buy an adapter to make it the drive for a netbook.
