whoa, alex has over 5000 posts, when did that happen? haha
doesn't it say on the threaded version of the sr fork to reinforce it just to be safe side? im not saying andrew doesnt make quality parts because they really are excellent parts im just saying reinforcing is really just like a last resource you can do if you want to be on the safe sidethe_SD_local said:Max Hughes said:Doweling is a reinforcing method thought up by the folks at PMW Go-ped, Instead of throwing a metal tube on the inside of the fork tube to reinforce it, they use a wooden rod(or dowel) to strengthen the bars with very little wieght gain. Its very effective and nearly unbreakable. Im not a engineer or anything but based off of my experience with gopeds 2mm isnt too much thickness for a fork tube that big, it will either bend or snap just like the un-doweled goped bars do.
Reinforcing is such a joke I'm sorry. Why don't companies step up and actually make quality parts from the start so people don't have to waste their time trying to make them better??? If I buy something I want it to perform and I am willing to pay a little more for it. I don't want something that I know isn't that great so I have to figure out how to keep it from breaking on me.
