What ever happened to the community?

I guess I just feel like kids are more disrespectful now and appreciate less and less. It was never like that before.

Nooner and i were just talking about that earlier today. I really think i would be a great mod. If i was one i would always follow all the rules unlike almost all of the current mods. But i wouldn't mind cussing as long as you don't use it to put someone down.

Kinda but I've changed. I used to rag on people for heel dragging too harsh, i still think heel dragging kills style and personally i would never count a trick or film it if I MYSELF did it. But now i just never bring it up.

And r-dubya said one of my pictures was gay as fuck in the riding pictures thread and i didnt like how the mods didn't do anything until i brought it up. So that pissed me off and made me just want to talk shit all the time. Not that i care anymore, im over it.

I agree with this, the only ones that ever post are like Billie Rainbow and Alex Steadman, but i think the mods should have a get together and just delete all of the known arse holes off this site. Or there should be an age limit in a perfect world, I know this would never happen though

I love Billie Rainbow.

People used to be grateful for being able to ride Razor Pro mods., JD Bugs and Micros but now you have all the one piece decks available for sale which are often really expensive - these ungrateful little kids just get their parents to buy £500+ scooters which they'll destroy in a few months from their lack of care, whilst in their heads they'll be thinking that their Dad or Mom can just buy them another bank busting scooter. I see kids like this everyday and it really pisses me off.

It seems like people lost the sense of mutual respect too. I remember the days when you respected anyone as a rider, no matter how old they were or how long theyve been riding. Now kids just demand respect and dont even give other people the respect they deserve. Everyones alwasy trying to one up or make the other one look stupid in some way to put themselves above that person. These kids try to build reputations the absolute wrong way.

This works out really nice sometimes because if the kids are dumb enough can trade you haha

There's too much worrying about this thing or the next now, it used to just be riding and having fun without thinking about it. Now there's all these deep questions about making videos and getting sponsored and having the best parts and shit. It's no good.

You just compared an unsponsored college sophomore from Bumfucketteville, North Carolina to some of the biggest names in the game. I understand, he's very mature, but there are a lot of other high post users who are just the same.

Old post but who cares. T Bill is chill.

I never meant any disrespect. I just think its funny how he's being compared to pros with signature parts and stuff.
Lol if thats what you're looking for if you're looking for someone to respect, than you should just leave now.
Like seriously.
But all of the arguing on SR is, in my view, caused by a few choice people. If you look back on the threads that have turned into a large argument it is always caused by one of the few certain people.
It seems like people lost the sense of mutual respect too. I remember the days when you respected anyone as a rider, no matter how old they were or how long theyve been riding. .
I love this, I wont claim to have been in this sport as long as most anyone here, but I've definitely been riding long enough to have seen that more than once, and it's a beautiful thing.
People break the rules, we get rid of them. You guys all seem to be complaining about arguing but if we got rid of everyone who argues you'd complain about us being Nazis. We ban one for it, we have to ban everyone who does the same thing.
Do it. Sometimes when you're in charge you have to make the tough decisions, and deal with the consequences. Eventually people will see that you had the better judgement. I'm not saying to ban every single argument starter, but if you see a pattern in someone's post who continually starts arguments, give them a week ban to think about.

The Bennet family moved in across the Lancaster porch hulk, that's why you see the difference in the forums...

Thats all we need. The community was perfect when everything first started taking off. Now because of everything you listed like sponsors and videos people take it a lot more seriosuly. It makes sense to take it seriously if you want to go somewhere with it, but people dont have fun with it anymore. I used to love watching videos when riders only had videos every month or 2, it wasnt all artsy fartsy, and you could always tell that who ever was riding was genuinely having a good time. Now people are just too professional about it sometimes, we need to loosen up again and have some fucking fun.
On that subject, Im working on finally making a real video haha. Im gonna film whenever I ride and just film what happens. Im not gonna go set up some big production ----- because Im going to have FUN with it. Ill never release anything as a sponsor video unless Im actually sponsored by them. Im not going to go out of my way to try to get sponsored, if Im good enough for something, than itll find me. Thats how it used to be back in the day. There were only a few companys and then other small companies popping up, adn these companies found your videos. Now a days kids make a video and send it to every god damn company out there. Call me ass backwards, but that seems like youre trying to hard in my opinion. I understand people wanna get sponsored, but you should earn/ deserve it, not ask for it.

Im rambling hard as hell, but this is one of my biggest pet peeves with the sport. People need to loosen the fuck up.

Every time I get on SR all I see is pointless arguing and disagreements. What happened to the way this used to be? I couldn't wait to get on SR a few years ago and see what new threads were happening and what funny posts people made. I don't know if it can be like that again it just seems like the online scooter community is dead and so much more loose knit then before. Good videos get like 10 replies in the video section and its just a bummer.

3 years ago this community was even more of a shithole than it is now, I know this because I left it 3 years ago. Regardless, while a thread like this typically annoys me, it doesn't annoy me as much at least coming from you when there haven't been any recently. Mods just gotta keep doing their job, and the more intelligent and loyal members of the site have to keep visiting it, simple as that. Pointing it out only ever seems to cause more "drama" as the young girls love to word it, these days.

This. I watched the Alex Steadman Mini Video 1 and 2 and the clips on his vimeo pretty much every day. What those videos showed looked like fun and I wanted to do the same thing: have hella fun.
