i had the same problem with my flight deck but mine was because of the powdercoat. Just gently file around the head set cup until you can get the bearings in. Takes a bit of time but it should solve the problem. Also use a round file if you have one.

Im 6 foot and ride 24 high bars. they are perfect for me. Having giant bars that past your waist isn't gonna help much.

Your bars are not threaded. They just have an impression. A starnut should fit. What bars and forks are you runing?
